Orthopaedics

Canine cranial cruciate ligament rupture is one of the most common causes of hind limb lameness in dogs. We are able to perform Tibial Tuberosity Advancement Osteotomies(TTA) in the treatment of this injury.  TTA uses natural inherent biomechanical forces in the stifle to eliminate the cranial drawer instability and this procedure is significantly less traumatic than many other traditional methods of surgical treatment.  As well as lowering the recovery time and the complication rate, TTA’s compare favourably with TPLO's and other anatomical altering techniques.  As one of the first referral centres in the UK to be approved by the University of Zurich to perform TTA’s, we have a high level of experience with this procedure. We also offer routine treatment for Osteochondrosis, luxations, joint arthrodesis and fracture fixation. Investigative techniques include digital radiography, contrast arthrograms, video arthroscopy and MRI scanning. We have full AO/ASIF and external fixator capabilities as well as other methods of fracture repair.
