Skin conditions can be

very frustrating for both

owner and pet.

We are here to help you

with both the diagnosis

and management of these

cases.

Skin problems are commonly encountered in veterinary practice and these conditions are often difficult to diagnose and manage.  An accurate diagnosis and an appropriate therapy program is paramount to improve the quality of life for both the pet and the owner.  Many diseases such as allergic conditions are life-long afflictions that require dedicated management from the vet and owner.

We provide a  full range of dermatological tests such as intradermal allergy testing, video-otoscopy, cytology, histopathology and cultures.  Often digital images are used to monitor progress and will be used in appropriate cases.

Due to our extensive experience with second opinion dermatology referrals,  you can expect state of the art treatment for all our patients. A written report resulting from your appointment is always produced for both the client and the referring veterinary surgeon on the same day as the visit.

What is involved in a Consultation?

Each consultation lasts for around an hour.  Speaking to you in person enables us to get a full history and  your impressions of your pet's condition.  In this way we can appreciate the potential management options for the skin condition according to your individual circumstances.  A full examination follows and the clinician will discuss with you if further tests are required, treatment options and the costs that may be involved.  On occasions a follow up visit is necessary before a final diagnosis can be made.  Information can be provided for certain conditions to summarise what was explained during the consultation.

How is a referral consultation made?

If you need to arrrange for a dermatology referral consultation please ask your veterinary surgeon to fax your details to the clinic.  You will then be contacted and an appointment made at your convenience.
